Toshiba Satellite Offers Monster Computing Experience

If you are on a tight budget and are seeking a notebook that does not feel or look like a budget computer, you might want to consider the Toshiba Satellite notebook PC. This is a great PC for computer users that demand optimal performance on a shoestring budget.

Classy Design

The Toshiba Satellite contains a sleek new design that has a glossy finish with gold striping. The classy striping continues to the touchpad and palm rest with high tech LED lights dispersed throughout the keyboard and control functions.

The Toshiba Satellite has a wonderfully light weight at 4.41 pounds where many other laptops of this caliber can be as hefty as nine pounds. The body size makes for easy portability and measures in at 12.4" x 9.0" x 1.13."

Ergonomic Keyboard and Trackpad

  • Glossy Keyboard Finish: If the glossy finish and classy striping is not enough, the keyboard also has a glossy finish with keys that are ergonomically shaped to be user-friendly to your fingers with a complete number pad to the right of the key set. The keyboard provides for a great balance between substantiality, quietness, and comfort.

  • Unique Trackpad: The trackpad has a somewhat grainy feel to create more ease when moving the cursor and has a unique positioning to the left of the keyboard. The left side placement allows for better control of the cursor and the mouse buttons which are designed in a larger size and sensitive function to make them easier to press down.

Ports and Connectivity

  • Ports with Sleep and Charge: The Toshiba Satellite notebook comes equipped with an impressive number of ports for superior connectivity on a shoestring budget. The Toshiba Satellite offers three USB ports which have a really cool Sleep and Charge technology that charges USB powered peripherals even when the PC is not in operation.

  • Ethernet Plus: In addition to the Ethernet and modem jacks, the Toshiba Satellite also offers a USB/eSATA port, S-Video and S/PDIF ports, headphone and mic ports, and FireWire. There is also an ExpressCard slot and a five in one memory card and all of the ports are strategically placed on the side and in the front of the computer.

Performance

The Toshiba Satellite comes with a host of preinstalled trial software which tends to slow down the boot up process significantly. Once you remove the trial software booting is much faster and more efficient running on an Intel Processor with GL40 Chipset and a 160GB hard drive. It is also configured with a 3GB PC6400 DDR2 SDRAM with a maximum capacity of 4 BG.

The trial software appears to be a real bone of contention for several areas when it comes to performance and even causes glitches in the operation of the DVD, so I strongly recommend uninstalling it.

When it comes to pricing the Toshiba Satellite is quite reasonable at around $599.00. This is unbeatable considering the comprehensive technology you are receiving for the price, not to mention a computer that looks like you spent thousands on your purchase.
